"Regardless of the type of body that is the year when the vehicle goes from the NPA in VW, unless re-register with the HPC (at least in California). If you follow the tunnel back under the back seat, which are used, there is a small opening in the tunnel in which the exchange coupling. Opposite is the chassis number. You can publish this number and I can tell you what year it is, or a set of WCM and has all VIN on the list.
The year should be in the title. If you can find the engine block numbers, the dealer should be able to tell the year of the engine.
